Grey’s anatomy is a fan favorite and no. 1 ranked among all the med-centric TV series and movies ever made. Not only because of the fact that its named after ‘Gray’s Anatomy’ which is literally the bible for medical students but also for its accurate mixture of drama, romance, comedy while dealing with medical issues both common and uncommon. Like the book, the series is also pretty complicated, yet interesting at the same time. The terminologies used in it is quite intriguing for the young minds and makes us more interested in the human body.

Grey’s anatomy is also famous for the pretty complicated cases it often shows. It gives us an inside image of what actually goes on inside the operation theatres. It helps us connect to this field on a more personal level and sometimes we get so engrossed in it, that we often forget that it’s not real. Kudos to their designing team.

As for the quick rendezvous that happen all over Seattle Grace, the UT residents concur that they would probably be too busy. But the bulk of the show is real -- everyone working around the clock, interns trailing the attendants on rounds, doing the research, getting the lab results and making their diagnoses.

So what props do they use exactly to make it seem so real? if we were to dive deep into it, these ‘deets’ are even more interesting.

A behind-the-scenes look at the show's filming reveals an emergency room doctor who researches real and unusual medical problems for the stories.

Grey's Anatomy uses real cow or bovine organs on set to demonstrate their surgeries.

They use a mixture of silicone, red Jell-O, blood and chicken fat to demonstrate blood and other organs often shown in the series.

The crew also brings on a registered nurse, Ms. Linda Klein to set in order to make the surgeries look more accurate.

The show would give the surgical nurses all the correct instruments that would be used in that surgery. And when we see someone operating, it is usually in the hands of actual surgeon.

They also hired Dr. Karen Pike, a consultant for studying the cases.

They also use an actual soldering tool to solder the organs which often leave an awful smell at the scene.

Lamb brains have been used for some of the brain surgeries shown in the operation theatres.

Overall their graphic team did an excellent job on the designing of the series. They have succeeded in making the viewers believe that the ‘surgeries’ being performed in the OTs are real. Besides, shedding light on the medical terminology and evoking the interest of the viewers toward this field, this series has excellently delivered various other genres in itself. This thing has made it so unique that even after 16 years, it has an ever increasing fan base. Grey’s Anatomy is a must watch series for all, be it a medical professional or a person concerning some other field as it matches the likes of all and one can never get bored of it .
